Laura Basilico

I was born in Milan in 1967.

Despite literary studies and interests, I almost always worked in administrative and accounting area.

In my books football, music and society are connected with history.

My most recent work, entitled ‘Dietro i nostri silenzi’ (Behind our silences), explores - in an intriguing mix of reality and fiction - the female point of view on football in the vision of a well-known sports journalist committed to discovering how much the Balkan wars of the 90s have to do with the mysterious disappearance of Luka Modric during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

My previous publications include three novels:

Come un tuono in cerca di pioggia (Like a thunder looking for rain - Robin, 2008)

Sotto assedio (Under Siege - Demian, 2013)

Per il tempo che resta (For the remaining time – Il seme bianco, 2019)

and a collection of short stories entitled Donne che conosco (Women I know - Helicon, 2016),

first classified at the City of Como Award 2016.
