What has your negative overthinking done for you lately? My bestseller book, "Prescription For Positivity" shows you how to turn your negativity into positivity!
My attitude used to be pessimistic--and I didn't know it. Pessimism caused all kinds of problems for me. As a result, I quit most things I tried as a teenager. Then at 15 I met my camp director, John Curtis. He had a joyful approach to life. He laughed at setbacks. He learned from them. He took pleasure in making a little progress every day. Over time he taught me how to be positive even in the toughest of times.
I used these life lessons to plow through my hard times. By the time I was 18, I was an Eagle Scout and awarded the State Conservationist Of The Year Award by the North Dakota Wildlife Federation. At the time, I was the youngest to ever receive that award. Later on, this attitude helped me become the physician, father and author I am today.
How can you live with positivity? I found a system that works for me: positive routines, positive thinking, and positive relationship skills. Thousands of my patients and readers have found it works for them too, over the past 20 years. Maybe it will work for you, too.
Positive routines involve four routines I call the RAMP method. Read to put positive thoughts into your mind, to get positive emotions out of your mind. Act on the wisdom you've learned. Meditate to get in the present moment. Postview your day to learn from it. Just how does someone do all this? I have over 100 stories to illustrate that.
Positive thinking involves looking at life as an adventure. Setbacks are here to energize us, test us, and teach us. I have dozens of stories that show you how--so you can feel this adventure of positivity in action.
Positive relationship skills help you meet new people and form new friendships. I couldn't have learned positivity without my friends and my teachers.
My teachers, as luck would have it, were a great circle of doctors. Dr. Puls taught me about faith. Dr. Leighburg taught me to sing. Dr. Wayne Sandstead, my high school teacher, was the lieutenant governor of the state of North Dakota! He taught me how democracy and freedom works. Dr. Ben King taught me to think like Socrates. But no one taught me more about life than the Good Professor, John Curtis.
I pass on these life lessons in stories that inform and entertain. Like the Good Professor's stories did around a campfire. A good story helps you laugh at your problems--not take them personally. It also helps you see what you can learn to make your life better--and to have more adventures. After all, life is one great adventure! When I saw how that works I began telling stories like the Good Professor did. My hope is you'll be doing the same thing too, after reading my book!
