I studied languages at Manchester University then went on to teach English in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Upon returning to Britain, I obtained work as an academic librarian at Oxford and Exeter University Libraries.

In addition to writing, I love nature trails, amateur dramatics, cookery, travel and animal welfare.
