Tom grew up in a small village in rural Lincolnshire. After his A-levels he spent a year traveling the world before going to university to study Astrophysics and Renewable Energy. He spent 6 years working for an engineering company before he quit his job and sold his house to follow a dream to become an airline pilot. When he is not flying, or spending time with his family, he can be found rock climbing, mountain biking, or relaxing in The Great Outdoors.
Tom wrote the very first version of Key Quest as a piece of homework in 1998 when he was 12 years old. When he was 17 he expanded it as part of his A-levels and then in 2018 he revisited it again, changing the name of the main character and printing it as a booklet for his nephew. In 2020, during lockdown, Tom expanded Key Quest into a full length fantasy novel. He released Key Quest Crossings in 2022 and will donate the profits from the first 300 copies to gift free books to the schools where he learned to read and write.
