Adrian Gambier has a PhD in electrical engineering from the Ruhr University of Bochum (Germany) and the habilitation for university teaching from the University of Mannheim. He was also a university lecturer at the same university and at Heidelberg University. He is now with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy System (IWES) as a senior scientist, developing dynamic models and new control methods for large wind turbines. He also teaches Control of Wind Turbines at the Leibniz University Hannover. His main interests are real-time control, model predictive control, PID control, adaptive control, multi-objective optimal control, dynamic modeling, and system identification.
