David F. Eisler grew up in Florida before beginning a nonlinear career that has taken him through a wide range of personal and professional experiences. He is currently the Editorial Director for Language, Literature, and Culture at De Gruyter Brill. In February 2021 he earned a PhD in literary and cultural studies at the Heidelberg Center for American Studies. Prior to his doctoral studies, David spent three years as a research analyst with the Institute for Defense Analyses near Washington, DC. He also received a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics from Cornell University in 2007 and a master’s in international affairs from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs in 2014.
