Ed Francisco lives with his wife Michelle in Raleigh, North Carolina and Solihull, England. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1945 and was invigorated by the rigor and breadth of the public education system there in the 1950's and early 1960's. He initially pursued an academic career at The University of the South (BA, Philosophy and English) and Purdue University (PhD, Philosophy) and later settled on a business career after studying at the University of Chicago (MBA, Finance). His technical work in philosophy centers on the nature and experience of time, the limitations of knowledge and theoretical models, the emergence and structure of the self, and the emotional content of experience. Related to his work in philosophy, his verse and narrative compositions are concerned with those pivotal moments in our personal and collective histories that alter the trajectories of our possibilties as well as how we transact with the world and ourselves.
