Van Essler

Van Essler tinkers with devious devices and macabre magic. She writes a signature blend of dark-edged, cross-genre fiction, creating fantastical settings to expose real world societal issues. Her debut horror novel, Vial Thoughts, will be released May, 2023 from Raw Dog Screaming Press. She won The Founder's Award from the Professional Writers of Prescott for fiction and has numerous short story publications including Like Sunshine after Rain and Story Emporium Magazine. She holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Writing Popular Fiction degree from Seton Hill University.

When she isn't reading, writing, or researching for her next book, Essler enjoys experimenting with new recipes, yoga, and afternoon cat naps. She collects tarot card decks and has been known to give a reading or two. Residing in the Seattle area, she is always striving to take her coffee and tea obsession to the next level.
