Lori Brown

Dr. Lori Brown is an experienced teacher, leader, grant writer, and partnership manager who has worked with and for schools, non-profits, and for-profit organizations for more than 20 years to improve capacity and outcomes. Lori started her career in January 1996 as a high school German teacher and soon expanded her talents with school and district leadership roles. Following completion of a doctorate in Educational Leadership, she transitioned to the private sector, designing comprehensive professional learning plans for schools and districts around the globe. Her best role is that of solutions architect.

Brown has worked with some of the world’s largest education vendors to conduct thorough needs assessments, design/deliver personalized learning experiences, and support comprehensive grant projects. In 2018 she established Dawn Star Consulting to offer services that focus on effective leadership, change management, and the intersection of safe schools and intellectual freedom. She has published articles and book chapters on the topic of violent student voices and continues studying threat assessment and patterns related to school shootings. In her "free time" she also serves as a Children's Director at a local church; a role that brings great joy!
