Pia Parolin

Dr. Pia Parolin is a book author and photographer. Her books deal with soft skills in photography and street photography.

She was born in Italy in 1965, was a lecturer for ecology at the universities of Hamburg, Manaus and Nice and worked for many years as a biologist in the Amazonian basin.

After analog photography with a focus on travel, documentary and nature, she developed her enthusiasm for the urban, everyday and ephemeral photography like only street photography can capture. Her digital photographic work focuses on the fleeting moments of everyday life. Her photos and conceptual works are exhibited worldwide. She curates exhibitions and enjoys thinking about photography and its meaning.

In 2021 she was appointed to the German Society for Photography (DGPh), in 2024 to the Leica Akademie Germany. She is a member of the Optic Nerve Collective and Collectif Photon Nice.
