Hodgo Hodgeson loves to read and write books.
Despite The Christmas Conclave being his first novel, he has a tonne of unpublished stories he’s just waiting to unleash on the world.
He has been writing stories since he was a kid. back in Primary School he wrote an epic (four page) story which was the longest and hardest thing he had ever written!
(Unfortunately the story has been lost to time and he cannot even recall what it was about).
He was super proud – until one of his best mates showed that he had written an eleven page story based on a cartoon they both enjoyed watching (and possibly inventing fanfiction at the same time!).
Hodgo grew up, finished school, went to University (Waikato University, New Zealand) and then tried to decide what to do with his life.
His original ambition was to enter the film industry.
But…
In the New Zealand of the 1990’s (pre-Lord of the Rings) there wasn’t much of a film industry. So he elected to follow a different path.
And became a teacher instead.
Moving to Australia in the early 2000’s, marriage, kids and life soon got very busy.
It wasn’t until the year 2020, after seventeen years of high school teaching (English and History teacher), that Hodgo returned to writing.
What prompted him to pick up a pen again? (Well… metaphorically. It’s actually a keyboard)
In early 2020 practically everyone in the world (except for the Swedish, oddly) shut themselves inside their houses.
And suddenly, with a lot of time on his hands, between trying to organise his online classes and trying to support his daughter through accessing hers, Hodgo started writing again.
And here we are!
