Ramona Greenstein

I am a mother of five lovely grown children and grandmother to eight. I have lived a long and happy life and have been many things, but my favorite “job” was when I opened Busy Baby Day Care and took care of children. They are so alive and fun and surprising in their independence and ideas. As my own five children began to grow, I taught school in La Crescenta and loved to see kids as they finally realized the ideas we were teaching them. You could see the light go on in their eyes! I have been a secretary, a purchasing agent, joined the air force during the Vietnam War, where my purchasing agent career began. I went overseas during the 2004 Tsunamis to help people get back on their feet, sailed to Cuba and gave out shoes that I had gotten here in the United States. I have painted, but never liked my own work and in between all this I started writing stories for children, but never thought to get them out to people. Well, now that has changed. I want my four daughters and three granddaughters to see that women can accomplish anything they set their minds to.

My purpose for writing children’s books is to introduce them to curiosity, delight, and wonder while they also learn words, colors, numbers, and more complex ideas. I want to stimulate their imaginations to create their own worlds as well as understand our own planet Earth.
