Cosimo Defrancesco

Although he did not pursue a degree in literature, Cosimo explored and expanded his poetry in his early twenties. Moving away for university allowed him to experience a whole other world compared to the one he grew up in. This led to many encounters with love, sadness, depression and anger. The only outlet that had an effect on his mental health was his poetry. Writing allowed him to feel and process his emotions through art.

Growing up in a small town in Ontario, Canada allowed Cosimo to appreciate the value of community.

Cosimo attended Wilfrid Laurier University to study archaeology. He then spent seven years working in the world of archaeology alongside First Nations communities in Southern Ontario. He later decided to pursue teaching in hopes to share his love of history and poetry with his students. Cosimo is married and has recently become a father.
