Born in Cape Town, raised in Rhodesia, converted to Christ in 1977, Dr. Peter Hammond has served in missions since 1978, first in Scripture Union and Hospital Christian Fellowship.
After his service in the South African Defense Force, Peter was led by the Lord to launch Frontline Fellowship as a mission to persecuted Christians in Restricted Access Areas. Peter has pioneered Evangelistic missions into Mozambique, Angola, Sudan, Rwanda, Congo and Nigeria. He and his Frontline missionaries have smuggled in and distributed millions of Bibles and Christian books to persecuted Christians throughout Africa and Eastern Europe. He has proclaimed the Gospel in 38 countries, on 4 continents and has helped establish over 100 Christian school and numerous Bible Colleges throughout Africa.
Peter has been ambushed, come under aerial and artillery bombardments, been stabbed and shot at, beaten by mobs, arrested and imprisoned.
Dr. Peter Hammond is the author of numerous books, the editor of Frontline Fellowship News and Christian Action magazine, the Founder of Frontline Fellowship, the Reformation Society, African Christian Action, the founder and convenor of the Biblical Worldview Summit and the great Commission Course. He is the Founder and Chairman of Christian Liberty Books, Literature for Africa and the William Carey Bible Institute.
Peter, and his wife Lenora, were home schooling parents of four children and three grandchildren.
