William E. Doolittle

Now the Erich W. Zimmermann Regents Professor Emeritus of Geography at The University of Texas at Austin, William E. Doolittle has studied ancient and historic agricultural fields, features (e.g., irrigation canals, terraces), systems, and landscapes for nearly 50 years. His regional interests are the American Southwest, Mexico, and Spain. Professor Doolittle holds a PhD from the University of Oklahoma, and has received distinguished scholarship honors from the Conference of Latin American Geography, and the American Association of Geographers. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Geographers and the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Stockholm.
