Rod Earls

Rod's first pastorate was a church plant in rural East Texas starting with five people eventually having an attendance of 150. But better leadership of the laity and more effective equipping them was needed. During this time, he completed a postgrad work at Southwestern Seminary concluding with research on Spurgeon. It drove him to experiment with these principles found in Spurgeon and the Metropolitan Tabernacle. A later pastorate in California and then a work with an association of churches there proved these insights were very profitable for leading and serving laity and watching them make new disciples and become leaders for Christ's work and planter/pastors. Rod now invests in other pastors and serves as Assistant Professor of Practical Studies at John W. Rawlings School of Divinity, He and Carol are involved in missions work abroad with a special focus on Guatemala.
