Christian J Dean Ph.D.

Christian J. Dean, Ph.D., is licensed as a professional counselor/board approved supervisor (LPC-S) and a Marriage and Family Therapist/board approved supervisor (LMFT-S) in Louisiana, where he practices at Counseling for Growth, LLC. His focus on action and change are at the forefront of his practice.

Dr. Dean is also a Professor in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at the University of the Cumberlands. He is a 27+ year member of the U.S. Armed Forces (mainly the Army National Guard and U.S. Army Reserve) and is a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom III. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and participated as a collaborative investigator for the DSM-5 Field Trials in Routine Clinical Practice Settings. Dr. Dean has published and presented on numerous topics including, but not limited to: military systems/culture, infidelity related trauma and grieving, ethical considerations and ethical decision-making, differential diagnosis and assessment, the use of metaphors in counseling and counselor education, couples counseling, and behavioral modification.
