Gabriela Condrea, M.Ed. was the preteen flipping to the workout section of the magazines in the check-out line. She undoubtedly inherited her appreciation of movement from her grandparents Caty and Vlad, both beloved physical education teachers, her father Arcady who boxed in college and exercised all his life and mother Lydia who was a collegiate-level basketball player, and her love of the written word from her grandfather Constantin “Carol” Condrea, who was a well-known writer by profession. Gabriela was born in Chișinău, Moldova and grew up in Seattle, United States. She is a speaker, teacher, writer (books: When 1+1=1 (2011), Cuando 1+1=1 (2013) & Posture Book (2022)), inventor (When 1+1=1 Connection Game), and student of life. Since 2010, she has used her connection-centered approach to Argentine Tango to help people connect with themselves and with each other, and since 2013, she has helped people with mobility challenges “Dance to Walk” with her TangoStride™ Technique, powered by Hugs that Empower nonprofit since 2016. When she’s not dancing, writing or organizing, you can find her enamored with her little garden, battling the slugs and squirrels.
