Susha Thomas, PT, DPT, C/NDT, is a physical therapist, author, educator, and advocate specializing in Parkinson’s disease and Stroke rehabilitation. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and has dedicated more than 20 years to helping individuals achieve greater independence and quality of life.
Susha currently serves as the Director of Therapy Operations and Program Chair for Parkinson’s Disease at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. Throughout her career, she has been committed to raising awareness about Parkinson’s disease, reducing stigma, and empowering individuals living with the condition through education, advocacy, and evidence-based care.
Her first book, Parkinson’s Disease: Reclaim Your Life—Tips to Help Manage Your Symptoms, was selected for display at the World Parkinson Congress 2023. Her second book, 100 Exercises for Parkinson’s Disease, was selected for display at the World Parkinson Congress 2026, further highlighting her contributions to the Parkinson’s community.
Susha’s passion for serving people with Parkinson’s disease was inspired by her mother, a nurse who passed away with cancer at the young age of 53. Throughout her nursing career, her mother devoted herself to helping those who had lost hope. Following her passing, Susha was determined to carry on that legacy by finding a population she could inspire and support.
Working closely with individuals living with Parkinson’s disease, Susha witnessed firsthand the frustration and despair many experienced after being told there was little they could do to manage their symptoms. Through practical strategies, exercises, and evidence-based interventions, she helped her patients discover that they could take an active role in their care. Time and again, they were amazed by how much they could accomplish when given the right tools and guidance.
In addition to patient care, Susha is a continuing education (CEU) instructor who equips clinicians with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively treat people living with Parkinson’s. She has been featured in news articles, podcasts, and professional platforms, where she continues to share her expertise and passion for improving lives.
Through her work, writing, teaching, and advocacy, Susha remains dedicated to one mission: restoring hope, empowering individuals, and helping those living with Parkinson’s disease reclaim their lives.
