John H. Maclean

I am a native Savannahian and my family came here in 1735 with a boat load of Scots named McIntosh who General Oglethorpe recruited to fight the Spanish. My family has lived through all of this City's history. My Great Grandmother's Grandfather was scalped by the Creeks in 1818 and we were on both sides of the Civil War for example. My Charleston side came over to America in 1685 and were burned out by the Spanish on Edisto Island. The house foundation stones are still visible. My father was Mayor of Savannah for many years and I practiced law and was a Judge here before retiring. I love history and I love Savannah.
