Lucy Hannah

Lucy Hannah is a writer and mixed-media artist based in the UK.

Lucy explores the strata of life through art, with a particular focus on making felt. She loves colour, texture and exploring how things work together. Connection is important to her and she finds meaning in the visible and invisible layers of her work.

She uses water and friction to create felt landscapes out of dyed and brushed wool, then adds detail later using special felting needles, embroidery and beading. She also uses paint – occasionally using brushes, but often other tools to experiment with texture and pattern – including paper itself.

A long-time lover of words, woven into her creativity is her work as a writer and as an editor. As she embraces the visual arts she refuels her creative mind, in turn giving her inspiration for writing. She thrives on variety.

Art and writing are, for Lucy, forms of discovery, taking her on a journey through both word and image.
