Christopher Bassett D.Min.
Chris is a retired pastor of 25 years, an Army Reserve Chaplain with over 30 years of service (and presently retiring), a former police officer of 15 years, and a retired police chaplain of 10 years. He has served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, responded to the Hurricane Katrina and Oso, WA landslide disasters, and travels to Tanzania to teach pastors at a seminary. He is also an instructor for the ChaplainTrainingAcademy.org.
Chris completed his Doctor of Ministry at Liberty University in 2021, publishing the first ever academic study on First Responder Chaplains, focusing on issues related to burnout. The study's results inform his book, Weary, Burdened, and Burned Out, which published in October of 2022. Chris received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2002, and his BA in Legal Studies from Pacific Lutheran University in 1989.
There are aspiring authors among Chris' four children, who have each taken up their own professional pursuits across the country. Their exodus from their childhood home in Bonney Lake, Washington gave Chris and his wife of 29 years, Cheri, the green light to finally move to warmer climates and they ended up in Tampa, Florida. They enjoy running an RV Community Chaplaincy program, personal fitness, and visiting their grandson, Milo, in Virginia.
Chris and Cheri were pastors of a small church in Washington for 16 years and love encouraging Christians to see themselves and others with God's eyes. Chris' new ministry pursuit, 4th Dimension Ministries (4thDimensionMinistries.org) builds upon his first book on burnout and stretches into 4th dimensional faith - understanding eternal consequence and destiny and how it impacts how we should live today. He is available for speaking engagements through his website.
