Laura Malt Schneiderman is an award-winning journalist and interactive developer for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. She has won seven Golden Quills and was part of a team that won the Scripps Howard Edward J. Meeman Award in 2011. Originally from St. Louis and a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, she has worked on Capitol Hill covering TV and technology as well as covering daily news in Altoona and Greensburg, Pa. She has a master's degree in Information Science and has worked as a web developer for several Pittsburgh technology startups and organizations. "Kaufmann's: The Family That Built Pittsburgh's Famed Department Store," co-authored with Marylynne Pitz, is her first book.
