Malay Mandal

Smitten by love for his motherland, Malay has been travelling across the length and breadth of the country to discover and document the many myriad hues of its microcosmic natural and cultural heritage. With a penchant for documenting the fading glories, mostly about the unparalleled yet neglected, Malay’s never-ending journey of explorations is fueled by an inexhaustible zeal to investigate and unearth lesser-known facets. Blending captivating imagery with well-researched narratives, Malay strives to present a full picture by bringing in different perspectives. Starting with “Wild Escapades around Central India (2016),” Malay debuted as an Author and Photographer. This was followed by “Brahmi: Rediscovering the Lost Script (2016)” that weaved together leads from ancient history, archeology and epigraphy.

Malay’s love for ruined site of Mandu resulted in Guidebook “Xplore Mandu (2017).” Next to follow was “The Magic of Mandu (2019),” a collaborative project spread across timelines and international boundaries, under guidance and blessings of stalwarts like Dr. M. K. Ranjitsinh and Dr. Mamoun Sakkal. The work went on to bag the Incredible India “National Tourism Award” for Excellence in Publication in English for the year 2018-19. “Xplore Khajuraho (2019)” is a tribute to the timeless art traditions of Chandelas who took temple making to new heights, in India and World Over. Malay is currently researching on a host of subjects spread over natural history, architecture and art history. You can follow his work at malaymandal.com
