ROMAN KVASOV

Roman Kvasov, Ph.D., is an American mathematician and Professor of Mathematics at the University of Puerto Rico. He holds a Ph.D. in Scientific Computing, as well as M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. Dr. Kvasov is an expert in scientific computing and the finite element method, and an active researcher in Cosserat plate theory and mathematical modeling. His work has appeared in leading journals, including Applied Mathematics, Thin-Walled Structures, Modelling and Simulation in Engineering, and Applied Mathematics and Physics. Dr. Kvasov is also a former Math Olympian and an accomplished Olympiad coach. For more than 20 years, he has trained students for top international competitions, including the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO), the United States of America Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO), the United States of America Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO), the Ibero-American Mathematical Olympiad (IbMO), and the Central American and Caribbean Mathematical Olympiad (OMCC). He is the author of dozens of books on competition mathematics, including the widely used guide "How to Win a Math Olympiad", relied upon by students, coaches, and parents worldwide.
