Farah Ali

Farah Ali is Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies at DePauw University. Her fields of research include sociolinguistics as well women’s, gender, and sexuality studies. Focusing primarily on Spanish, Catalan, and Arabic, her research is grounded in using qualitative and sociolinguistic approaches to examine the relationship between language and identity. She is the author of Policy, Media, and the Shaping of Spain-Morocco Relations: Discursive Representations of Migration to Ceuta and Melilla (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024) and Multilingualism and Gendered Immigrant Identity: Perspectives from Catalonia (Multilingual Matters, 2022).
