Some interesting things about me are that I’m a baby daughter, baby sister, mother to seven, mother-in-law to three, grandmother to three and proud retired Navy Wife. My husband, Bryan and I are a bit like the Brady’s in that we are a blended family. We’ve been married since 2012. We have three girls and four boys. One of our son’s is Autistic. He lives next door to us in his own apartment.

I’ve been a RN for since 1995. I got my Master’s in Business Administration in 1999. Most of my career has been within hospital executive leadership where I led, quality, regulatory, risk management, & patient safety teams. I’ve been working within quality & patient safety since 1997 in some form or fashion. I love people and patient safety has been my passion for a long, long time. Developing people and helping others to reach their goals has been my niche. It is important to me to have a team who feels supported and empowered to do their best every day. I think we all are born with our gifts, and mine has been around team building and team growth and development. My teams over the years have called me “the gardener.” I have had many teams; and I’m still so proud of each of them.

My hobbies are: cooking, traveling and experiencing different cultures, gardening, photography and writing. I have enjoyed writing since I was a young girl. I wrote a book of poems in my teens and since that time have used my passion to write newsletters for my teams or write for professional organizations about my field of expertise. As I near the end of my nursing career (however I’ll always be a nurse); I’m spending time sharing lessons learned over my more than fifty years of traveling and living within this wonderful United States. I spent nearly twenty years as an active duty spouse. I think I have a unique perspective having grown up as a simple country Oklahoma girl. It is my hope that I can share a bit of a what I’ve learned.
