Dr. S. Syed Jaffer

Dr. S. Syed Jaffer is a distinguished chemist and passionate educator with a Ph.D. in Chemical Sciences from the prestigious Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata (IISER-K). His groundbreaking research has been published in high-impact, internationally renowned scientific journals during his doctoral tenure. Following this, he pursued advanced research as a postdoctoral fellow in Biophysical Chemistry at Seoul National University (SNU), South Korea.

Returning to India, Dr. Jaffer contributed to the industry as a Senior Scientist before transitioning to academia. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), Coimbatore, inspiring students with his vast expertise and innovative approach to science.

Dr. Jaffer is a prolific inventor, with multiple international patents to his credit. He developed a pioneering method to synthesize and process nanodiamonds (WO2020115755A1, WO2020115754A1) and created novel amino acid-based hydrogels from single molecular entities without the use of organic solvents or polymers (WO2019021143A1, WO2019021144A1).

Beyond his academic and research achievements, Dr. Jaffer is a committed mentor and author. He has recently been involved in creating comprehensive educational resources for school students, including science fair project ideas, and advanced preparation guides for NEET and IIT-JEE Chemistry, empowering students to excel in competitive exams.
