Welcome to my author page, something I never thought I would write! I can't say I set out to write books but with two young daughters and the growing exposure to children's books, I felt compelled to write something for my children to enjoy. My first book is about Alf the Gonk. A gonk who gets lost and ends up in your home! My second book stays with Alf but this time you meet his family on an underground adventure round London.

I grew up in picturesque Suffolk and went to University in St Andrews, Scotland to study Physical Geography and Geoscience. After a year spent drilling for oil and gas throughout the North Sea I retrained as a secondary school Geography teacher at Cambridge. Whilst enjoying many aspects of teaching it wasn't until I was in the thick of it, I felt it perhaps wasn't for me. I went back to my routes of geology and became a geotechnical engineer advising developers on how to ensure the land was safe from contamination and designing foundations. After 5 years I moved into Project Management for a specialist surveying company where I remain to this day.

My first books have been written mainly in the early hours of the morning as my eldest is an early riser! I hope to develop the Land of Gonks and create a world of enjoyment through these mythical creatures. I hope you enjoy the books and come back for more over the coming years.
