Olga Herrera

Olga Herrera is an Author and Illustrator of children's books.

She earned her bachelor's of Fine Arts from the Ringling College of Art and Design with a major in Illustration.

Olga's author/illustrator debut picture book, The Unwelcome Surprise, is published by Feiwel & Friends, Macmillan (2023).

Winner of the SCBWI Regional Conference logo competition for two consecutive years (MD/DE/WV 2019 & 2020), and has served as picture book mentor for the SCBWI (MD/DE/WV Region) Cohort Mentorship Program. (2022).

Olga is the co-founder and co-host of ILLOCHAT, a podcast about the journey into professional Illustration. She happily shares her success and failure with her listeners to encourage and guide authors and illustrators of children's books.

She is bilingual in Spanish and English and is known to switch languages mid-conversation when the right words don't come out. She lives in the picturesque state of Maryland with her husband, two children, and too many pets.
