Brenda Squires

Brenda Squires is an artist, therapist, and the author of five books. She was awarded the Romantic Novelists’ Association’s New Writers Award in 2004 for her debut novel, Landsker, centring a young Englishwoman in West Wales, grappling with her identity and emotional crisis amidst the throes of the 1926 General Strike. Her following novels – The Love of Geli Raubal (2016), and the first two instalments of her The Eatons trilogy, Wayward Daughter (2022) and Exiles in Paris (2023) – blend romance with rich historical research and searing meditation on the interplay of art, society, and political conscience, all written in her characteristically sensuous yet psychologically astute prose style. The final instalment of the trilogy, A Distant Call, will be published in November 2026. Brenda studied French and German at KCL and holds an MA in Creative Writing from Cardiff University. A native Londoner, she now resides and writes in Pembrokeshire, which she considers her adoptive home.
