Kwame King

Kwame King is an author, illustrator, and creative entrepreneur whose work explores resilience, imagination, and community empowerment. Born and raised in the West Bronx, his early life experiences inform stories that speak honestly about adversity while pointing toward purpose, ownership, and possibility.

He is the author of the memoir Sicko The Stubborn Child of God (ISBN 978-1733572101), a 320-page account of personal transformation that traces his journey from hardship to leadership, fatherhood, and entrepreneurship. The book examines themes of resilience, identity, and redemption through lived experience.

Kwame is also the author-illustrator of the children’s picture book Tyler’s Little City: Because I Can Dream Big (ISBN 978-1733572132), the first title in a series designed to help young readers build confidence, imagination, and pride in their communities. His children’s work emphasizes literacy, social-emotional learning, and early exposure to concepts of ownership and responsibility.

In addition to his books, Kwame develops school-based workshops and curriculum that combine storytelling, art, and practical life lessons for children and families. He serves as COO of Victory Lift Publishing and is the founder of KOMPLX by Ladarius Bleu.

Now based in Maryland, Kwame continues to write, illustrate, and develop cross-media projects while mentoring young people and creating work inspired by his greatest role—being a father to his three children.
