Steven Grasse

Steven Grasse has created some of the most iconic spirits brands in the world, including Hendrick's Gin and Sailor Jerry Rum. He is currently the founder of the Philadelphia-based drinks branding agency Quaker City Mercantile, which over the last two decades has resurrected Narragansett Beer, reinvigorated Miller High Life, and been the brand architects for Guinness's new Open Gate Brewery. He also owns Tamworth Distilling in New Hampshire, which since 2015 has released some of the most viral spirits in the world, including Eau de Musc, a beaver castoreum flavored whiskey, and Crab Trapper, a bourbon steeped with an invasive green crab species along with a Low Country boils-worth of spices. His books include the controversial The Evil Empire: 101 Ways That England Ruined the World (2007), Colonial Spirits: A Toast to Our Drunken History (2016), and The Cocktail Workshop (2021), an IACP awards finalist. "Brand Mysticism: Cultivate Creativity and Intoxicate Your Audience" is the culmination of his life's work. He splits his time between New Hampshire and Philadelphia.
