Cameron is one of the two authors of Lifeguarding for Dummies, a book within the For Dummies series published by Wiley. Born and raised in Westbury, NY, a village on Long Island, he grew up frolicking on the shores of Jones Beach State Park. He currently has eight years of ocean lifeguarding experience, plus several more as a junior lifeguard in the Jones Beach Junior Guard program. Cameron began his career on the ocean at 16 years old for the Town of Hempstead before joining the Jones Beach Lifeguard Corps. In addition to his lifeguard certifications, Cameron is a registered EMT-B for the New York State and volunteers for his local fire department. Outside of the beach, Cameron works on a clinical research team at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center facilitating the smooth operation of early phase clinical trials there. He enjoys nerding out on what's hot in biotechnology, surfing in all seasons of the year, snowboarding during the winter, and cheffing up a hearty meal for his friends and family.
