Mark Duff

Hi, I'm Mark! I live in the beautifully flat Fens of the United Kingdom with my ever-patient wife, a loving French Bulldog, a crazy wheel-bound Pug (who you might just recognise in my books!), and a grand total of eight cats.

I’ve spent most of my adult life working in IT, but my true passion has always been making up stories for my four wonderful grandchildren. Eventually, the everyday funny and exciting moments we talked about needed to be put on paper—and that’s how Marsh the Penguin was born.

I have absolutely no classical art training. In fact, learning to draw was the hardest part of this whole process! But watching my characters finally come to life right in front of me has been an incredibly fun and rewarding journey.

I am currently building a whole series of Marsh the Penguin adventures. Each book focuses on different characters facing their own everyday moral dilemmas, teaching kids how to navigate the world with kindness and empathy. (And when people ask if Marsh is based on me? Well, anyone who knows me will definitely see the similarities!)
