Giulio Lughi (www.giuliolughi.it) is a retired Professor of Sociology of Cultural and Communicative Processes at the University of Torino (Communication Science), where he taught "Theories and Technics of New Media", "Interactive Storytelling & Art", "Cultures of Digital Media". His research areas, and most relevant publications, concern the relationship between ICT and humanities; multimedia theory; analysis of transmedia textes; interactive fiction; evolution from mass culture towards digital media culture. In 1998 he visited the Brown University (RI) as a visiting scholar. He has been President of CISI (Interdepartmental Center for ICT in Humanities) of the University of Torino; Director of the NewMediaLab at the Department of Regional Studies; President of the Technical-Scientific Committee of CSI Piedmont; member of Scientific Board of AIS (Italian Sociological Association - Communication Section); member of Scientific and Teaching Board of ICON (Italian Culture On the Net); member of Editorial Board of several academic journals. He has worked in publishing area as a writer, translator, editor, series director.
