Yamel Figueroa

Yamel Figueroa (she/her) is a Latinx artist, born and raised in Puerto Rico. She's currently working as a visual development professor, a freelance character designer and award winning book illustrator. Yamel has a BFA from the Escuela de Artes Plįsticas de Puerto Rico in traditional animation and film, and a MFA from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, in visual development for animation. In 2021 she made her debut as a children's book illustrator.
