Robert Rice

Rob Rice, Ph.D. specializes in the treatment of anxiety and repetitive behaviors associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder and autism spectrum disorders in children and adolescents. He developed and directed a large clinic supporting people with developmental disabilities and mental illness from 2004-2009. Dr. Rice is now seeing clients in private practice part-time and is employed full-time as a tenured Associate Professor in St. John Fisher College’s Graduate Program in Mental Health Counseling where he is also the Director of Clinical Internships. His current projects and research interests include using videogames and technology to teach self-regulation and other skills for managing anxiety and repetitive behaviors. He presents regularly on his research and clinical approach, including internationally in Toronto and The Netherlands at the International Meeting for Autism Research and Games for Health Europe respectively. He is the author of Video Games in Psychotherapy (Routledge, 2023).
