Laura Diaz

Laura Diaz is an early literacy advocate, author, and the creator of the Learning Reading Hub platform, where she shares research-based resources on phonics, reading instruction, and language development.

Certified as a TEYL (Teaching English to Young Learners) teacher by the World TESOL Academy, Laura holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Navarra (Spain) and a Master’s degree in Communication from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). Her background combines education, communication, and digital strategy — allowing her to translate complex literacy research into practical, accessible tools for families.

Her journey into reading instruction began when she set out to teach her first daughter to read. What she discovered was overwhelming: conflicting advice, ineffective methods, and widespread confusion about how children truly learn to read. Determined to find answers, Laura immersed herself in the science of reading, synthetic phonics, and evidence-based instruction.

Today, her mission is simple: to make learning to read clear, joyful, and grounded in research.

Through her books, videos, and educational resources, she helps parents and educators feel confident teaching letter sounds, phonemic awareness, and early decoding skills, without guesswork or frustration.

Originally from Spain, Laura has lived in eight locations across Europe, Australia, and the United States. She now lives in the U.S. with her husband and two daughters, raising her children bilingually in English and Spanish.
