Volenté Lloyd is a South Wales-based writer, illustrator, and multi-media artist whose work is defined by its emotional depth and vibrant creativity. Born in South Africa, Volenté spent time in the Netherlands and Canada before settling in the UK in the 1990s—a journey that has deeply influenced her global perspective and inclusive approach to storytelling.

Her debut children’s book, Such a Little Time, marks the beginning of a poignant series designed to help young children navigate the complex emotions of loss and grief. Inspired by a desire to provide a gentle, hopeful resource for families, Volenté crafts stories that celebrate the strength of children facing early-life challenges. To ensure her message of hope reaches as many families as possible, she has overseen the translation of her work into numerous languages, including Welsh, Afrikaans, Spanish, Greek, and German.

Beyond her writing, Volenté is an award-winning film producer, director, and singer-songwriter. Her artistic practice is often collaborative; she frequently works with illustrator W. W.
