Nancy Gorrell

Nancy S. Gorrell, English teacher from Morristown High School, Morristown, NJ has been guiding and inspiring students for over 36 years in the art of teaching creative writing, English, and poetry. An award-winning author of numerous articles on the teaching of English and poetry in the English Journal and National Council of Teachers of English publications, she was chosen to serve as New Jersey State Teacher of the Year, 1991-92. In 2001, she was awarded Outstanding English Language Arts Educator by the New Jersey Council of Teachers of English, and she received a Governor’s Award in Arts Education from the State of New Jersey. Most importantly, Nancy’s writing is very much inspired by her students and colleagues. Many share the pages of her books. She dedicates her most recent work to her students and colleagues. Nancy S. Gorrell resides in Bridgewater, NJ. She remains a life-long learner, student, writer, poet, naturalist, painter, and teacher.
