Violeta Herrero is an Argentine writer. She was born in Salta, in the extreme north of her country, and gateway to the Andean culture; lands that were the first in rooting population and the hard core of the struggle for the independence of Argentina. She studied law at the Catholic University of Salta, graduating in 1984, has a Master's Degree in Constitutional Procedural Law at the National University of Tucumán, specializations and postgraduate studies in Family Law at the National University of Rosario, Santa Fe, and at the University of Buenos Aires, as well as a Master's Degree in Human Rights at the National University of Salta.
She litigated for some years in her hometown of Salta until she joined the Justice System, where she worked as a civil prosecutor for twenty-five years, activity from which she retired in 2021, to devote herself exclusively to literary activity.
Violeta Herrero has published more than forty books including prose, poetry, theater, history, law, and interdisciplinary research; she has also participated in some twenty anthologies.
