I first began reflecting on my life after my mother passed away in 2009. She was only sixty years old. I struggled with my relationship with my mother, and I was left with so many questions. My therapist told me to try to understand what my mother’s life was like, so that I can find compassion and understanding of why it was so difficult for her to connect with me. I remembered that my mother had the same struggle when my grandfather passed away three years earlier. I had asked why she was so angry with him, and I was shocked to find out that my grandfather was an abusive alcoholic when she was growing up. This prompted me to want to know more about my family history. I had questioned my grandfather about his family while he was in the hospital before he passed, and he told me about his grandmother Sydney. I was intrigued, so I did some research, and the story began.

This book is a story loosely based on my family, and how our generational curses moved through the generations. This is book one of three. Book three will show how these curses showed up in my life and affected how I moved through life, until I broke them.
