Regis DeArza

Regis served with the United States Marines in Vietnam. He participated in combat during the first major Marine offensive, "Operation Starlight," as well as other combat operations. Afterwards, he joined the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) and served with the Texas Highway Patrol, DPS Aircraft Section, and DPS Narcotics Service. While a DPS Captain, he was the Assistant Director of the Texas Narcotics Control Program, in the Governor's Office, during the Ann Richards Administration. Regis retired as the Assistant Commander of the DPS Narcotics Service. He had a second career with the Hays County Sheriff's Office, serving as the Commander of the Hays County Narcotics Task Force, and retiring as Chief Deputy of the Hays County Sheriff's Office.
