As a child, Vinvan enjoyed reading and dreamed of becoming a writer. In the midst of education and work, he was unable to pursue his passion, but that changed once his daughter was born. Reading to her most nights rekindled his love of reading and his dream of becoming an author.

His daughter loved engaging books, so he decided to write one himself. He wrote an early reader so that his daughter and other children could enjoy reading it independently. To motivate kids to read, he wanted to give them real characters and an engaging storyline.

In authoring the Little Luna series, Vinvan drew inspiration from real-life events that shaped his daughter’s upbringing. The Little Luna books reflect on his daughter’s relationships with her friends during preschool and early grade school. In Little Luna, he wanted to create a strong female character that would serve as a positive role model for all young girls, who would represent a sensitive best friend that everyone could relate to.

Vinvan wrote the series with the intention of making it fun, affordable, and collectible, so any kid could enjoy reading it and perhaps gain confidence to read more challenging books in the future.

Currently, Vinvan lives in Sydney with his wife, daughter, and a goldfish named Goldie, all of whom provide him with a lot of inspiration.
