Matthew Cox

From silver jewellery to musical instruments, to wooden portraiture, to electronics and now to writing children’s books. Matt has made many things in many different ways over the years. Originally from Brighton but now living in Somerset. Taffy and the Tapir Party was his first time writing a children’s book and he really enjoyed the process. The idea came from his partner and illustrator Julia Henauer, wanting to illustrate her own book. Since tapir are her favourite animals, It made sense to write her a book about them, and so Taffy was born.

The duo of Matthew Cox and Julia Henauer who make up StrangeFish Books have lots of ideas in the pipeline. Another 4 in the Taffy series, as well as several stories around the environment and folk law.
