Douglas “Fresh” Pitzer is an educator, community leader, and innovator dedicated to reshaping how people learn, lead, and elevate their lives. As the Founder and Educational Director of Strokes of Genius, LLC, he creates immersive literacy programs that merge technology, culture, and human development to help students think, read, and imagine at higher levels. His commitment to expanding access to learning has led him to collaborate with over 30 organizations, guide school districts, and develop groundbreaking tools in VR, esports, and cognitive-based literacy.
Fresh also serves as the President of Blacks in Technology Southwest Virginia and the Manager of the Neighbors Advocacy Council for Feeding Southwest Virginia—roles that reflect his passion for uplifting communities and building bridges between opportunity and those who need it most. Currently pursuing his PhD at Virginia Tech, he focuses on the rising disparity in technological literacy and the impact of AI and immersive learning on African American students.
