I'm a Hoosier by birth (an IU grad) but have lived in North Carolina ever since I began working on my Master's in French at UNC in 1974. I taught in the NC public schools (French and Spanish) for many years, and currently have a pie and pastry business here in Hillsborough NC (Kathleen's Perfect Pies--yes, I'm now the "Queen of Tarts"). I'm the mother of five sons and grandmother of eight, and at the moment am trying my hand at having some children's books published. You see, I had already written several of these books for my grandchildren before deciding to put them out there for others to read. "How Gobbly Gobbler and Friends Worked Together to Make a Delicious Dinner" (with a Thanksgiving theme) was the first to be published. Other books that have been published already include "The Littlest Christmas Tree," "Brother and Sister Bunny's Amazing Easter Adventure," "Halloween Costume Poem, and "Happy Valentine's Day Poem." And (drum roll, please) I have another book which I'm really excited about coming out soon: "A Magical Christmas Eve." I love everything I do, including teaching, reading, writing, baking, watching my favorite sports teams, traveling, and especially hanging out with my family, grandchildren, and vivacious boxer) and am always happy to share my enthusiasm with others. I really hope you will enjoy my work.
