I am an author from Nova Scotia, Canada, writing stories that invite readers to pause, reflect, and consider what is true.
As I approached retirement, my wife and sister encouraged me to begin writing. My sister reminded me that I used to write short stories as a teenager, something I had long forgotten. I found myself wondering if it was even possible.
My early books were a challenge, and there were moments I questioned whether I should continue. That changed when I began writing The Lie from the perspective of biblical characters, and the stories started to take shape.
From there came The Hill series, beginning with The Hill: The Journey Begins, and later Fighting the Wind. These are not just stories of events, but of people walking through uncertainty, wrestling with what they believe, and discovering what remains when everything else is stripped away.
I have also written the A-Lee Kids children’s books, where each child is different, with their own interests and gifts, yet like all children, they are discovering, learning, and experiencing life in their own way.
My work centers on family, faith, loss, and the moments that shape who we are. I write not simply to tell a story, but to invite the reader into it—to reflect, to question, and to consider what is true in their own life.
My latest novel, The House We Returned To, tells a story of family and loss, where lives are turned upside down and the encounters along the way reshape what they thought they understood, leading them back to what truly matters.
I continue to write from Nova Scotia, sharing stories that are not meant to be rushed through, but to be considered. These are stories that stay with the reader and speak to something deeper than the moment.
