Burdon Campbell was born in Houston Texas, and he was raised in Los Angeles, California from an early age. He graduated from John C. Fremont High School and then studied two years at Los Angeles Trade Technical Junior College to become an electrician. He joined the United States Air Force, became a civil engineer electrician, and later an aircraft electrician. Burdon served 20 years in the United States Air Force. The Air Force gave him the opportunity to visit the ruins of ancient cities in Greece, Egypt, and Libya. He stood on the same rock (The Areopagus) where The Paul preached, visited the Red Sea (The Gulf of Suez), and toured the ancient city of Sabratha (west of Tripoli). These experiences increased his interest in BIBLE history. Burdon fell in love and married a Baptist girl (“May”) from Jackson, Mississippi. They have been married for 58 years. They have one son, two daughters, one great-grandson, and one great granddaughter. Burdon is currently a member of the Faith Fellowship Community Church in North Highlands, California. For a number of years, he taught a Bible study at Folsom State Prison. He also serves his church, his community and his city as caring, humble, and respected, ordained deacon.
